Quesiton about adding references in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 (Visual Basic)

Hello, I am just wondering how I can add Direct X references to Visual Basic in Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2. I cant find them in the .NET reference list, or the .COM reference list, or anywhere. I downloaded the Direct X SDK for August 2009, but I can not add the .dll files to the reference list. Is there anything I can do to add them? I need the references for programming reasons.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 7600 RTM.

Error: "A reference to 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\framework\v3.5\d3d9d.dll' could not be added. Please make sure the file is accessible, and that it is a valid assembly or COM component."

They should be listed as Microsoft.DirectX and Microsoft.DirectX.whatever on the .NET tab.

Windows 7 should include DirectX support, I think, built in so you shouldn't have to install the SDK.

(Although I'm not on my Windows 7 machine right now so I can't check. If you can't find it, I'll try later.)

Hi Cleowin,

I am moving this thread from Base "Visual StudioSetup and Installation" forum to the "Visual Basic IDE" forum, since the issue is related to VB IDE. There are more VB experts in the "Visual Basic IDE" forum.

Thanks
